Dirk Ehlert, Composer
I am a German composer and have been working as a full time media composer for the last 12 years, working for numerous Production Music labels (Universal, BMG, dos brains, BrandX, ReallySlowMotion and more) for trailers, commercials, TV, games and movies.
Since 2019 I am the co-owner and Creative Director of production music labels DOCUscores and REALITYscores.
After three years of living and working in Los Angeles, I now live in beautiful Spain, working on numerous projects worldwide.

To take this course you need to have at least a basic understanding of what goes into creating music with a computer. You should have some experience using a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) and have a general understanding of Virtual Studio Technology (VST) and Virtual Instruments (VSTi).
The course does not cover education in music theory. While it is not essential to have knowledge about music theory to take the course, it can certainly be helpful for some of the included videos to have a basic understanding of music theory. Especially if your aim is to become a professional media and production music composer, I highly suggest to put effort into learning music theory as well, as it will vastly improve your understanding of the musical tools used and needed to be able to write in various different styles.
The content of the course and all course materials that come with it, is my own intellectual property. The included compositions and project files are for study and learning purposes only. The included musical material is registered with BMI under my name. You can not use the included music tracks as your own.
